Reclaimed Alaska Studio

Local upcycled art

About the artist

Hi!! I’m Benn, an artist based in Alaska who makes art out of deconstructed pallets. Those rough, splintery shipping platforms most people toss or burn. I see them as raw material for something better: wall art, furniture, storage or any number of things.Every piece I make carries its own history of nails, knots, and deeply gouged scars. If you're into honest textures, second chances, or just like the smell of reclaimed wood, you're in the right place. The total uniqueness this medium provides is one of it's greatest strengths.Speaking of mediums, I have another project I'd love for you to check out. The process of breaking something old and creating something new with it not only helps scratch that creative itch I'd been feeling for a while but it has also sparked some thoughts in my head about life and how we live. I write these thoughts and others down in poetic essays that I publish on a site called medium. If that sounds interesting to you you can find me at: https://medium.com/@bennjamin.abelakThanks for visiting and reading all this wordiness. Feel free to look around, share, or reach out, I’d love to hear from you in any capacity. Email me at [email protected] or find my social media links below.
